News and Events The Head Sheaf Following the success of the Mountain trilogy an opportunity has arisen whereby it may be possible to have a film documentary made on the life and times of the people of Sliabh-an-Iarainn. In order to enhance these prospects and to make the story adaptable for T.V. the project committee have decided to publish a 222 page book, consisting of 47 specially commissioned, well researched new articles, together with 8 previously released and historically important articles which have now been enhanced and updated. The book contains circa 250 photographs and will be published under the title "The Head Sheaf". This book is now with the printers and will be released on Sunday Aug.1st.2010 starting with concelebrated mass of "The Head Sheaf" in St. Patrick's Church, Ballinamore at 6 p.m.and afterwards the launching ceremony in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon. As part of the weekend activities a special memorial mass, in memory of the people who were involved with this project and have now passed on, will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Aughnasheelin at 12 noon on Saturday 31st.
